Past has not passed...
I am currently digesting while listening to a James Blackshaw’s album named after one of my favourite books.
This is/has been an amazing Christmas.
My uncle made a surprise visit for Christmas. He lives in Sydney and I rarely get to see him. He’s so much fun and he really understands me. We always have so much to talk about. Lewis gave me a Pentax Spotmatic with a flash for...
Didn’t anybody tell you how to gracefully disappear in a room?
– Secret Meeting by The National.
Soil creatures.
Someone ran over a possum outside our house. I just arrived home from band practise, and it was there in the middle of the road, three small pools of blood swirled around the poor creatures soft, limp body.
I didn’t want to leave it there… it didn’t seem right. Dad helped me move it into the backyard so we can bury it in the morning.
Poor little thing. I hope death came...

The stove-top lost its pasta pot Chiming against the tangram stones Three years before my grandmother lost it, Tied-down, light-shocked and wearing someone else’s clothes. She rose above the pillow, Secrets painted on her feet. Sang of Roman soldiers, Swept into the sea. The walls are full of fire With the curtain’s by their side. Everything is
My poetry has always been a very private thing for me. I post it on a blog separate from this, but I never give the link to anyone. I write for myself only. Sometimes I like to think that a person might stumble upon my blog, but I know that it’s unlikely.
I guess I’m like that with most things I create, which might sound silly but I feel like I’m still reaching my full...
My favourite thing on Earth?

The Moon :]
One of mine too! :) Have you ever listened to the Microphones? It’s the lo-fi recording project of this brilliant man named Phil Elverum. He released this album in the 90’s that’s a bit of an underground favourite. It has this amazing song on it called ‘The Moon’.
:)
Subi Power Waltz
I just wanted to post about this weird, slightly funny thing that happened to me on the train today. I was standing at the door, waiting to exit at Central, and when the doors opened a slew of people just started moving forward to hop on before I’d even had a chance to get off. I don’t know if this is a worldwide thing, but in Brisbane at least, etiquette is to allow the people on the...
Isorhythmic Night Dance, with changes.
I am listening to Sufjan’s the BQE for the first time! What a glorious day :) My hands were trembling when I handed over the money yesterday. I wanted to listen to it immediately, but I was only on a break from work and had to rush back.
I don’t know if I should have watched the DVD before listening to the soundtrack, but I really just wanted to hear the music and see what images it...
Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.
– Confucius (via humain)
This is my favourite song at the moment!
He was kind and powerful. He asked me to read him a poem. And then he asked me for another. And another. This was on the roof of Nancy’s house, which she called The Firestation. Nancy gave us lunch and then I read some more. Later, many sorrows befell them both.

Water and air and music.
So I’m feeling nostalgic and was thinking about a couple of albums that totally blew my mind when I discovered them.
The first is Midlake’s ‘The Trials of Van Occupanther’. The first time I listened to this album was one afternoon as I drove to pick my sister up from work. I arrived early so I parked in a side street and listened for fifteen minutes. I feel like...
The sky is falling down!
Last night, tonight and tomorrow night from different parts of the world it will be possible to view the Leonids meteor shower! I’ve been reading up about it for the last couple of weeks and I’m hoping I know enough to be able to locate it in the sky.
A couple of my friends and I are going out to Landsborough this afternoon to Jeremy’s house. I can’t wait :) There will be...
Garage sale Sunday
I think my life is a mess and I don’t know how to fix it. I lose things, I am late, I float from one day to the next, dreaming and forgetting things.
I forgot I had to work at 11:30 today and I’m already walking on thin ice because I’ve had to ask for so many days off for Oh Ye Denver Birds gigs.
I don’t know where I’m anymore.
Trees are explosions of life in slow motion.

Save The Words! →
shutlow:
from their website:
each year hundreds of words are dropped from the english language. old words, wise words, hard-working words. words that once led meaningful lives but now lie used, unloved, and unwanted. today 90% of everything we write is communicated by only 7,000 words. you can change all that. help save the words!
this beautifully designed site displays hundreds of obsolete...
Useful Chamber?
I hate the internet so much. I hate you Facebook. I hate you Last.fm. I hate you MySpace. And Tumblr, I wish I knew how to quit you.
They make me feel like someone I’m not. I hate the stalking tendencies that these sites promote. Not Tumblr so much. I’ve been noticing more and more how much time I waste jumping from one pointless site to another. It makes me feel really uncomfortable....

New 'Basket of Figs' songs!! →
Oh beautiful and elusive ‘Basket of Figs’. Who are you? Where does your magic come from? Why do you hide?
I love you!
What if my own flesh is suburban sprawl?
You could see the stars so clearly as I was walking home from the train station tonight!!!!!!! It was beautiful and amazing. I haven’t seen them like that in the city in so long. I realised how beautiful the church steeple is too, against a blanket of stars. Might go sketch/paint it sometime this week. It’s funny how we can become blind to things as we become used to them. I went to...
