I feel like I understand the Honey Month a great deal more now after listening to A Hawk and a Hacksaw at Tom’s recommendation.
It’s amazing how a band with either a ukulele, or accordion (or both), is immediately lumped into the Beirut imitator category.
I thought their show was glorious and wild and encased everything that is wonderful in music. They were in the middle of this raucous instrumental jam, stamping and hollering, when the skies opened up and it began to pour. Their double bass players response to the rain was to dance with a greater abandon then before. It was an amazing sight to behold.
